Joint Urban Ministry Project
For over 30 years, JUMP has been listening and responding to the real needs of people with thoughtful, practical assistance, informed referrals, and warm hospitality.
South Burlington Food Shelf
Within the South Burlington community, nearly 1 in 4 students depend on free or reduced school meals, and those same students may go without breakfast and lunch over the summer school vacation when those resources are unavailable.
The nearest food shelf in Burlington can feel unreachable for these families, as the most vulnerable struggle with poverty, employment, and lack of transportation. By establishing a food shelf here, where it’s needed most, we can offer our neighbors the resources they deserve. By pulling together, as a community, we can serve our neighbors with dignity and grace.
COTS
COTS advocates for long-term solutions to end homelessness and provides emergency shelter, services, and long-term housing for people who are experiencing homelessness or are marginally housed.
Lutheran World Relief
LWR partners with communities to create jobs and develop productive, inclusive and resillent economies rooted in agriculture. They promote sustainable farming practices so farmers and agribusiness can improve productivity while conserving their natural resources. LWR also responds to natural disasters and complex crises, helping people to recover, rebuild and reduce their vulnerabilities to future shocks.
Bread for the World
Bread for the World is a Christian advocacy organization urging U.S. decision makers to do all they can to pursue a world without hunger. Their mission is to educate and equip people for policies and programs that can help end hunger in the U.S. and around the world.
Interfaith Power & Light
Since the year 2000, IPL has partnered with thousands of congregations to address climate change by stewarding Creation. IPL insipres and mobilizes people of faith and consciense to take bold and just action on climate change.
