Social Action

The Social Action Committee helps provide opportunities for members to learn about and support an array of local, national, and global ministries with their time and talents and by giving monetary contributions. National and global ministries are primarily through the ELCA or Lutheran World Relief. 

 

Supported ministries serve a variety of needs:

• Social Justice
• Food/Poverty
• Spiritual
• Health/Well Being
• Environmental
• Jobs/Housing

Members learn about opportunities to participate through announcements in church, the Sunday bulletin, Ascension's weekly e-news, and special events, presentations, and displays. The committee meets monthly, and new members are always welcome!
