The Property Committee is responsible for the stewardship of the building, grounds, and all physical property owned by Ascension. The committee supervises and guides the congregation's environmental stewardship of the grounds, arranges for repairs and maintenance, coordinates purchases and modifications, arranges work sessions for cleaning and painting, and prepares an annual expense budget for property-related expenses.

  • We repair and maintain what we are able to as needed.
    • Painting and needed renovations
  • Hire & oversee professional help when and where needed
    • Electric, plumbing and heating, roofing issues, etc...
  • Arrange & oversee work days where all are welcome and encouraged to share in the upkeep of our property.
  • Oversee short term commitments for special jobs.
    • Lawn mowing
    • Fall cleanup (leaves and pine needles)
    • Sidewalk snow removal
    • Gardening
      • Weeding
      • Planting
      • Watering
    • Creating a landscaping plan
    • Maintenance and oversight of our woods
    • Contract with personnel for larger jobs
      • Weekly cleaning
      • Parking lot snow removal
    • Initiating and installing various energy efficient projects
      • LED lighting
      • Weather stripping

The committee meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. to share a meal. The meeting begins at about 6:30 p.m.
